Johnnie`s Beef in Arlington Heights

I don't get the hype about Johnnie's. The beef is like any other place at best and has some unique spice but nothing special and the fries are plain frozen ones. The lemon ice was nice and the prices and service were fine. I prefer Nana's personally.

I love this place you can never go wrong with johnnies. Everything just taste delicious. I like that they have watermelon Italian ice. Must try place.

My fries were just OK , The Beef Had More Sweet Peppers Then Beef , For Me Not Worth The Money ,

I love that their beef is spicy. But there is an employee or 2 who really skimp on the beef and it's a big turn off. My daughter said it wasn't worth the money. My sandwich was plenty but not hers. My one brother had a real skimpy sandwich too, not much beef. We're paying good money don't cheat us please. Next time there probably get fries, which you get a lot of, and a tamale.

Better than I was expecting. The italian beef was flavourful and it is very fluffy. The price is proportional to size too which this was a smaller sandwich. Overall thoroughly enjoyed the food and was very good quality overall. Will definitely come back here again.

Ate Lunch here while i was waiting for my car to be worked on. Its good and the price point is remarkable comparing to other beef and hot dog places. The place is small and old design but there are plenty of outdoor space to eat, there is a patio.

Great place for a quick bite. The Italian beef was prepared "hot and wet" and had great flavor. The fries were hit and crisp, on point. The inside did not appear to have changed in decades, but did not feel outdated and was very clean. Next time will try the sausages.

To me Johnnie's has a really good Italian Combo(Italian Beef & Italian Sausage w/ Giardiniera Hot 🔥 peppers). Their Italian Ice is awesome. One of my favorite eating establishments for years. Back in the day when I lived in Elmwood Park I found out about Johnnie's, then years down the road they opened the one in Arl.Hts.

Johnnie's has the best Italian ice in town. It's fresh and delicious whether you choose lemon or watermelon. Their Italian beef is also fantastic, and I personally like it better than what Portillo's has. Johnnie's has very reasonable prices and fast service.

I love johnnies, I don’t care what all you old people are saying that it’s worth 3 stars, because it’s the best place and I want to marry Johnnie. That way, I could have lemon ice every single day. I was looking for a quick bite in the area and Johnnie's caught my attention because of how many reviews it has. I decided to try it and was not disappointed. Ordering was simple and the food came out basically immediately and was delicious. I ordered Italian beef and Italian ice and fries. The fries have room to improve but everything else was delicious. In addition The bathroom was also clean, but the interior of the franchise can use some updating.

Best Italian ice I've ever had. Beef is best in the area, only had a few small shops in Chicago with better beef sandwiches.Finally takes credit cards, so it's the perfect restaurant to get a beef sandwich if you're in the area.

Hands down the best beef I’ve ever had! I would recommend the whole menu to anybody! The tamales and Italian ice are unmatched.

Best place for Italian beef in the suburbs! Everything they serve here is tasty. I especially like the Italian lemonade. Service is friendly and incredibly quick. Often times my order is in my hand before I'm finished paying. I love this place!

FIRST TIME HERE. I live in Seattle and asked for great local food. Johnnie's was a quick and efficient experience even though it was lunch hour madness. Everyone in my party tried something different. The weather was nice so we ate outside under the canopy. I will be back.

Its okay, Mr Beef is much better, no cheese available for the beef though.

Johnnie's is the best. Juicy beef is nicely seasoned, good flavor on the just, and never sour. Sometimes they don't give as much meat, but that's a 1/10 occurrence.Their hot dogs are great as well, the toppings tastes fresh (I usually have allergic reactions to raw veggies if they're not cleaned well of surface contaminants). And that sausage beef combo, ohhh mama.

Johnnie's Beef has the absolute BEST Italian beef and especially beef and sausage combos! Sausage is roasted over charcoal. Fries are top notch too as is the lemon ice. Last meal good. But limited menu - only beef, sausage, hot dogs and tamales plus fries.

Italian ice 5 stars , but beef flavor fore but the amount of beef in the bun is a joke , back in the day it was amazing big amount , today going down the hill :/

Went for Italian ice, lemon 🍋 perfect to have, Italian Beef wet, order fries, sat on patio, maybe 2 tables had 2 couples , all sat apart very nice !!!!

One of the best, if not the best, places to get an Italian Beef sandwich in the Chicago burbs!! I may like the first location on North Ave. a bit more, but if you're near Arlington Heights then Johnnie's is the place to go. Also great fries, Italian ice and an outdoor patio!
